TANGERANG - On Saturday, April 9, an English teacher agreed to an interview regarding intriguing aspects of teaching based on her 30 years of expertise. Henny Aprilistini is a 7th and 9th grade English teacher at SMPN 5 TANGERANG.

In the classical perspective, teaching is the process of transmitting information or knowledge from teachers to students. This paradigm says that the teacher determines everything. Henny participates in the process of teaching English on this topic. In other words, both in their personal and familial life, teachers serve as role models for the surrounding community. Teachers, as community agents, serve as liaisons between the community and the realm of education, particularly in schools.

She started her teacher education in high school, and entered a teacher education school which made her teach at one of the kindergartens located in the Tangerang area. Then she did not stop, she continued to explore her teaching experience by accepting an offer to teach in the freeport area of ​​Papua. In 2006 he successfully passed the civil service test and began teaching at a public school, SMPN 5 TANGERANG.

According to her, teaching is enjoyable since she gets to encounter a variety of people and students’ personalities and figure out how to cope with and educate them. “I enjoy it because I enjoy seeing the many personalities of students, I enjoy seeing them attempt to learn a concept, and I enjoy sharing what I know to help them understand.” She stated that he began to love her role in education because, for her, being a teacher is a noble profession that can educate the nation, and she performs it with pleasure and sincerity so that the knowledge she provides is valuable to her students.

Her aim for her students' success has been realized since one of her former students has gone on to become a doctor. At this time, she was pleased with herself, believing that all of the preparations she had made before being a teacher had been extremely beneficial in assisting her in becoming a good teacher and in assisting her student in becoming successful as well. One of her students even went on to become an actress. “I’ve also offered English tutoring, and one of my students, Prilly Latuconsina, is now an actress,” She stated.

Apart from having many special things in teaching, of course, there are some difficult things, such as dealing with students who are naughty and difficult to manage. Dealing with diverse students, from diverse family backgrounds. There are some students who are difficult to manage, difficult to absorb the information or material provided, and lazy, students like this are a challenge for her because she needs to teach them to be smart and she also needs to reflect on the method she teaches them. Then in this modern era, the biggest obstacle is technology. She has to re-learn about modern technology so that her teaching method is maximized.
